+Why drive via Shimla and not directly via Manali?
The Shimla side gives a gradual ascent over 3 days (2200 m → 2700 m → 3000 m → 3500 m). The Manali side requires a single-day jump from 2000 m to 4500 m at Kunzum — unsafe for most travellers. We always recommend the anti-clockwise loop.

Most circuits run March–November. High-altitude routes (Spiti, Ladakh, Chanshal Pass, Manali–Leh) are seasonal and operate only between June and mid-October when passes are open. We will tell you the safe window for your chosen route on the first call.
