Bir Billing Paragliding & Camping Weekend

Two days of adrenaline at India's paragliding capital. Bir Billing holds the distinction of hosting the 2015 Paragliding World Cup — the thermals here are some of the most consistent in Asia, and the 900-metre altitude drop from Billing (2,430m) to the landing site in Bir (1,525m) gives you 20-30 minutes of flight time. Your tandem pilot has hundreds of flights logged on this exact site. After the flight, camp overnight in tents set up in the Kangra Valley — stars above, the Dhauladhar range as a wall of rock and ice to the north. Morning brings a choice: a second flight, a mountain bike ride through the tea gardens, or a walk through Bir's Tibetan settlement where monks in red robes share the path with backpackers in hiking boots.
