Dalhousie
Day trip to Khajjiar — often called "Mini Switzerland" for its uncanny resemblance to Swiss alpine meadows. The 24 km drive from Dalhousie takes you through dense pine forests to a vast saucer-shaped meadow at 1,920m, ringed by deodars with a small lake in the centre and snow peaks visible above the treeline. The effect is genuinely magical. Activities include horse riding around the meadow, paragliding over the forest, and zorbing (rolling inside an inflatable ball) on the grass. Lunch at a meadow-side restaurant with views that don't quit. Return to Dalhousie via Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary — watch for barking deer and Himalayan black bear.
