Hot coffee at the Indian Coffee House — a Shimla institution since 1957.

Acclimatization day at Litham — essential preparation for the pass crossing. Take a short hike up the lateral moraine for a closer look at the glacier and the pass route above. From the moraine ridge (3,900m), the view is commanding: the entire approach is visible, and your guide will point out the safest line through the crevassed section. Practice ice axe arrest techniques on a safe snow slope — you'll need these skills tomorrow. Afternoon rest and high-calorie meals.
