Ride from Rampur through the Karcham Gorge — one of the most dramatic road sections in Himachal with sheer 500m drops to the Sutlej below. Cross into Kinnaur district. Turn off at Powari and climb to Kalpa (2,960m) — a hillside village facing the Kinner Kailash massif. Visit the Hu-Bu-Lan-Kar Gompa and the ancient Narayan-Nagini Temple. Evening: watch the sunset light up the Kinner Kailash glacier.

Drive from Sangla to Shimla (280 km, 8 hours) through the spectacular Hindustan-Tibet Highway — one of the most dramatic roads in India. The route follows the Sutlej River through impossibly deep gorges, passes through Rampur (site of the famous Lavi Trade Fair), and climbs back through apple country to Shimla. Stop at Narkanda for a final mountain view — on clear days you can see from the Dhauladhar to the Kinnaur ranges. Arrive Shimla by evening for a celebration walk on the Mall Road and a well-deserved meal at one of the colonial-era restaurants. The trek is complete.

Drive to Sarahan (2,165m) — home to the Bhimakali Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and among the most architecturally stunning temples in India. The twin-towered structure rises like a Himalayan pagoda with intricate wood and stone carvings that took centuries to complete. Spend the morning exploring the temple and museum. Afternoon drive to Sangla in the Baspa Valley — the road follows the raging Sutlej River through one of Asia's deepest gorges, then turns into the Baspa Valley, one of the most beautiful valleys in the Himalayas. The landscape transforms dramatically: terraced fields, apricot orchards, and traditional Kinnauri houses with carved wooden balconies. Overnight in Sangla with the Baspa River rushing below.
