Stay on a deluxe houseboat (the kind with carved walnut-wood interiors and a houseboy who brings bed-tea at dawn), ride the Gulmarg gondola together, walk through the Mughal gardens that were literally designed for royal romance 400 years ago, and end with a pony ride along the Lidder in Pahalgam. This trip adds the "jewels" — Betaab Valley (named after the Sunny Deol film shot there), Chandanwari meadow, and the Aru Valley — that give Pahalgam its reputation as Kashmir's most beautiful corner.
