Hassan Valley

Hassan Valley is a forested stretch on the Shimla to Kufri road, around 7 to 8 km from Shimla. It is also sold locally as Green Valley. Dense deodar and pine cover the slopes. On clear days, the viewpoints look out over folded ridges towards the higher Himalaya. It is mainly a short stop, not a full-day place. There are walking trails and picnic spots for a gentle half-hour or an easy loop. Many visitors combine it with Kufri, the Himalayan Nature Park and the Shimla water catchment forest in a half-day drive from Shimla. In winter, fresh snow covers the valley when Kufri gets snowfall. On weekends, expect pony, photo and entry touts. Agree prices in advance and check with your driver which section is open. Mornings are quieter and clearer than afternoons, and the road can be busy in peak season.
