Tibetan cooking class in McLeodganj — fold momos, roll thukpa noodles, brew butter tea, then eat everything you made
Learn to cook Tibetan food from people who grew up eating it. This food tour starts in McLeodganj's Tibetan colony, where your host — a second-generation exile whose parents walked out of Tibet — teaches you to fold momos (the pleating technique alone takes 30 minutes to learn properly), roll thukpa noodles by hand, and brew butter tea with actual yak butter. Then you eat everything you've made. After lunch, a walking food tour through Mcleodganj and Dharamkot: Tibetan bakeries, Kangra valley chai stalls, and a monastery kitchen where monks show you how to make tsampa porridge. Come hungry. Leave knowing five recipes you'll actually use.
